京都市では公益社団法人京都市獣医師会会員の動物病院で実施する犬・猫の避妊・去勢手術に対し手術費用の補助をしています。また、京都市獣医師会からも同額が補助されます。

この補助金を受けるにはいくつか条件があります。
- 京都市獣医師会会員の動物病院でのみ利用可能
- 動物病院の窓口で補助金を申請
- 動物病院には補助の上限が決められている
一番気をつけたいことは3番目の上限です。各動物病院には補助対象となる手術の上限数が決められています。人気の高い動物病院の場合はすぐに上限に達してしまうこともあるでしょう。かかりつけ医だからといって安心するのではなく、手術を行う前に必ず補助金の空きがあるのか確認しましょう。

Kyoto City subsidizes the cost of spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats performed at veterinary hospitals that are members of the Kyoto Veterinary Medical Association. The Kyoto Veterinary Medical Association also subsidizes the same amount.

Conditions for using the subsidy
There are several conditions to qualify for this grant.
- Available only at veterinary hospitals that are members of the Kyoto Veterinary Medical Association
- Apply for subsidies at the veterinary hospital office.
- Veterinary hospitals are capped on assistance.
The most important thing to keep in mind is the third limit. Each veterinary hospital has a maximum number of surgeries that are eligible for assistance. If it is a popular veterinary hospital, the limit may be reached quickly. Do not be reassured just because it is your family doctor, but always check to see if there are any subsidized surgeries available before you perform the surgery.
